The Story Behind Pink Elephant
A tale of courage, truth, and tea that changes lives.
Chapter 1 — Before Tea
For half her life, she told other people's stories in Ukrainian media. Journalism taught her one thing: a pretty picture and the truth rarely live in the same frame. You have to choose.
She never thought she'd write her own story one day. But life had other plans.
Chapter 2 — Sri Lanka, 2022
I was six and a half thousand kilometers from home when the war began. I went for a month and... stayed for almost two years.
When my home city fell under occupation, one question remained: what now. Then came an idea, and behind it, a vision. I saw that on an island where one in five people works in tourism, in a country ranked among the world's top five tea producers — there was nowhere to drink a genuinely good cup of Ceylon tea.
So, to occupy her head and her hands, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, in a village where beginner surfers come to tame the waves of the Indian Ocean, she opened her own tea shop. She renovated a run-down space and painted a pink elephant on the wooden fence — a symbol of Ceylon, and of her own otherness there.

Chapter 3 — The Island Pushes Back
The island welcomed her not only with the scent of spices and warm smiles, but also with the rigid rules of the local tea industry. Her openness, her desire to build something new, honest, and different — stirred resistance. The "tea mafia," unsettled by a foreigner who didn't play by the rules, moved fast: rumors, inspections, threats.
Under pressure and slander, she had to leave the island for several months.
But she didn't leave the dream behind.
Chapter 4 — A Brand Is Born
This is how Pink Elephant came to life — a Ukrainian craft tea brand that refuses to compromise with its own conscience. Every blend holds not just quality leaves from verified plantations, but a philosophy of freedom, responsibility, and honest taste.
It's not tea "like everyone else's." It's tea for those who, like her, are looking for their own path — their own ethical "yes" in a world full of convenient "no's."
Chapter 5 — First Steps in Ukraine
The first steps in Ukraine were uncertain. The market was saturated. People didn't immediately understand what set Pink Elephant apart.
But over time — through persistence, a clear vision, and deep love for every ingredient — the tea began to find its people. Those who value meaning, depth, and difference.
Epilogue
Pink Elephant is a choice. A sip that brings you closer to a better version of yourself — and, through that, to your own story. Because what's real is always recognizable.
This is a story about tea, yes. But also about the courage to be yourself. And that pink elephant, once painted on the fence of a tea shop far, far away, became the symbol of a brand that tells the world: you can do anything. Even start your own story with a single sip. And no — you don't have to live in a grey world. You can color it yourself, on your own terms.
Small steps to a big story. That's Pink Elephant.
